Lottie is teased at Ella's birthday party. She doesn't take it well.
This film is Alex's first film as writer and director, and she was 10 years old when it was shot.
Alex made the film with her school friends over one intensive day of filming.
She was inspired to make this film after watching films in the Youth Section of The Misty Flicks Film Festival, 2024. She submitted her film to the festival in 2025 but it was disqualified for perceived inappropriate content, and subsequently decided to not pursue further filmmaking.
Happily, on revisiting the film with her friends a year later, she feels she may make another film. We think this is an excellent debut film for a such a young director, and shows real potential if she decides to continue down this path. Of course, I may be biased as she is my daughter!
